Volunteers
Time matters more than experience.
If you want to give something back to your community, there's a place for you at Caritas. You don't need a résumé. You need to show up.

What we do together
Depending on the program, volunteers accompany kids at trainings and matches, help coordinate wellness workshops for seniors, and help make the Christmas Party possible from here — fundraising, coordinating and spreading the word (the party takes place in Latin America, alongside local organizations and volunteers there).
They also handle pre-event logistics (shopping, calls, transport), manage social media or help with design and photos, translate documents or forms, and raise donations door-to-door or through contacts.
We don't expect you to do everything. We assign you to what fits you and the schedule you have.
Open roles
Where you can help
Program coordinator
You're the face of a program. Handle registrations, logistics, and family communication.
Event volunteer
You help make events possible from here: fundraising, coordinating and spreading the word. The Christmas Party, for example, takes place in Latin America with local people; you help sustain it from Canada. No weekly commitment.
Senior mentor
Visit or call an elder once a week. Conversation, company, a little phone help.
Communications & social
You like taking photos, writing captions, editing reels. Make sure people see what we do.
What we ask
Be 18+ (or 14+ accompanied by a guardian).
If working with minors: a current Vulnerable Sector Check (we help you get it if you've never done one).
Real commitment to the schedule you sign, and let us know in advance if you can't make it.
Respect for families, kids, and fellow volunteers. No exceptions.
Frequently asked questions
How much time per week?
Depends on the role. Mentor: 1 hour. Events: 4-8 hours on event day.
Do I get paid?
No. It's volunteer. We cover transportation if we assign you somewhere far.
How long to start?
Once you apply, we call you in 3-5 days. If the role requires VSC, add 2-4 weeks until ready.
Do I need to be Latin?
No. You need to respect the community. If you want to learn, even better.
