Accessibility policy

We design and test this site with the goal of meeting AODA and WCAG 2.0 level AA; we publish our known limitations and a reporting mechanism.

At Caritas Felices Community Services Canada we believe accessibility isn't an add-on: it's part of how we build. We design this site and our programs so that any person, with or without disability, can use them. We work toward meeting the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the WCAG 2.0 level AA standard on this website, we publish our known limitations, and we offer a way to report problems.

What we did

Color contrast per WCAG AA on text, keyboard navigation, markup built to work with screen readers (we aim for compatibility with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver), descriptive alt text on informative images, forms with associated labels and clear error messages, and responsive font sizing with zoom up to 200% without loss of function. Our evidence to date is one automated axe evaluation on July 14, 2026, which found no automated errors; an automated check does not replace manual testing with real users and assistive technology, which we keep doing with each significant change.

Known limitations

The Zeffy donation embed is a third-party widget we have limited control over; if you find issues, you can donate by e-transfer or cheque, or ask us for help.

The admin visual editor is not fully keyboard accessible for some advanced operations — this only affects internal staff, not the public site. Older videos may not have captions; we are adding them progressively.

How to report an issue

If you found an accessibility issue on this site or any of our programs, email accesibilidad@caritasfelicescanada.org, call or WhatsApp us at +1 (416) 900-6246, or write to 652-2544 Weston Rd, Toronto ON M9N 2A6 (attn: Accessibility).

We commit to replying within 5 business days and fixing critical issues as soon as possible. If you request it, we can provide content in alternative format (plain text, audio, paper) at no cost.

Continuous improvement

We review this policy and our practices annually, and keep a log of reported issues and improvements made (without personal data of those who report).
